FAQs

Answers to the most common questions about Coaching.

How is coaching different from other forms of support?

Coaching is distinct from therapy, counselling, mentoring and consulting. Therapy is a regulated clinical practice focused on psychological wellbeing and mental health, often working with past experiences and their impact on the present. Consulting and mentoring provide expertise, solutions and advice.
Coaching is a forward-looking, structured process where the coach works with the client in a creative partnership that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential. The coach does not diagnose, give answers, solutions or directives. The belief at the heart of coaching is that the client already has the answers. The coach's role is to hold the process, ask the right questions, and create the space for those answers to emerge.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching works well when you have a specific goal or challenge you want to work on, when you are looking to deepen your self-awareness, and when you are ready to translate insights into concrete, intentional action. It is always forward-looking, focused on where you want to go rather than analysing the past. If you recognise yourself in this, coaching is likely a good fit. A Clarity Call is a good way to explore this further together.

Is coaching a substitute for therapy or psychological support?

No. Coaching is a forward-looking process and does not substitute therapy, psychological or medical support. If during the program a need emerges that goes beyond the scope of coaching, the coach is required by the ICF Code of Ethics to communicate this clearly and direct the client toward the most appropriate support.

What is NLP and how does it integrate with coaching?

NLP — Neuro-Linguistic Programming — is an approach that studies the relationship between neurological processes, language, and the behavioural patterns we develop from experience. In other words, how we think, how we talk to ourselves, and how those internal patterns shape what we do and what we believe is possible. Where coaching creates the space for awareness and intentional action, NLP works with the structure of that inner experience — the beliefs, inner dialogue and automatic patterns that influence behaviour, often without our awareness. In sessions, NLP techniques are used where relevant, always in service of the client's goal.

Do sessions follow a fixed agenda?

No. Each session is shaped by what the client brings that day, always in service of the larger coaching goal defined at the start of the program. There is no fixed agenda, the conversation goes where it needs to go. Coaching is fully client-led, in accordance with ICF standards. All sessions are confidential.

In which language are sessions held?

Sessions are available in Italian or English. The language is agreed upon at the start and can reflect whichever feels most natural for the work.

How do I choose the right program?

The Clarity Call is the best place to figure this out together. As a general guide: if you are curious about coaching and want to experience it first, a single session is the right starting point. If you have a specific goal you are ready to work on, Move the Elephant is the core 8-session program. If you sense the work touches multiple areas of your life and needs more time to unfold, Beyond the Room gives you that space with 12 sessions.

What can I expect from the process?

Coaching does not come with guaranteed outcomes. What it offers is a structured space to develop awareness, shift perspective, and build the clarity and confidence to take intentional action. What changes, and how, depends on what you bring and how you engage with the work.

What if my goal changes during the program?

It is completely normal. Goals evolve a sawareness deepens, what you bring at the start may shift as the work unfolds. The program is always tailored to you, and if the goal or focus changes, we adjust together. The number of sessions can also be revisited if needed, always as a shared decision in service of what matters most to you at that point.

What is the Clarity Call and is it free?

The Clarity Call is a free 30-minute conversation that marks the beginning of every path. It is a space to explore where you are, what you want to shift, and whether coaching is the right fit. It is also the moment where we figure out together which program makes the most sense. There is no commitment and no pressure, just an honest conversation.

What are the coach's credentials?

I am an ACC credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation. The ACC credential requires specific training, a minimum number of coaching hours, and adherence to the ICF Code of Ethics. I am also trained in Neuro-LinguisticProgramming and bring a professional background of almost eight years in Data and AI strategy in the international corporate world.

Are sessions confidential?

Everything that emerges during sessions is strictly confidential. Pink Elephant Coaching operates in accordance with the ICF Code of Ethics, which includes precise obligations around privacy and confidentiality. Sessions are not recorded. Confidentiality has limits in specific circumstances — when the client gives explicit consent to share information, when there is a legal obligation to disclose, or when there is a risk of harm to the client or others. In any such situation, the coach acts with care, transparency and responsibility.

Is there a formal coaching agreement?

Yes. Before starting any program, a coaching agreement is shared and signed by both parties. It covers the structure of the program, confidentiality, ethical commitments, and the practical terms of the work. It is a document designed to create a clear and transparent foundation for the work ahead.

Can I stop the program before it ends?

Yes. You have the right to end the coaching relationship at any time. If you feel the program is no longer serving you, the best thing to do is bring it up openly. If the coach notices the same, she will raise it with you directly and honestly. In case of early termination, sessions already held will be charged and any remaining balance will be returned.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

Life happens. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance when possible. This allows us to find a new time that works for both of us.

How does payment work?

Payment is made in full at the start of the program. For the 8 and 12-session programs, payment can also be split into two instalments: one at the beginning and one at the midpoint of the program.
